Fad Diets? Tea as a Better Alternative
There are a lot of diets being flaunted as the answer to easy Weight Loss – tea is no exception. More importantly though there are fad diets that are put on a pedestal (usually by celebrities and other popular people) because of its “effectiveness”.
Just because it’s called a fad diet does not necessarily mean that it is bound to fail. Some may actually work, with good results. Unfortunately, some of these quick diets die a gradual death as they sometimes lack the necessary studies for it to be considered safe.
Friends who consider themselves overweight (and this fact comes from their doctors as well) have tried some of these but to no avail. Some have just tried tea. To their surprise, they discovered some very interesting side effects:
They lost weight. True, they lost a couple of pounds. But as one friend pointed out, it didn’t happen overnight. Losing weight via tea drinking takes time, patience and dedication. It should be taken regularly and religiously for best results.
They ate healthy. Taking tea (or other weight loss products, for that matter) as a supplement for losing weight means just that – it should be sipped as a supplement. You shouldn’t be overconfident that you can now pig out on your favorite snacks. More so, you shouldn’t rely on just tea for your regular, daily meal that you decide to completely forego eating. Both extreme views should be scrapped (if you are seriously considering it.) Tea should just help in maintaining a healthy body – and that means, you should make some modifications to your diet for it to fully work. Eat leafy green vegetables, as well as fruits. Eat grains rich in fiber so as to flush out toxins. Drinking tea would Help Your body adjust to healthy-eating better – which brings us to the next side effect …
They felt more alive. Since the tea helps in detoxifying the body of unnecessary toxic waste by-products, the body now absorbs nutrients better, giving the tea drinker More Energy to do the chores and tasks of the day. Also, since they felt much livelier, they were able to counter stress-related concerns, making them less stressful than before they drank tea regularly.
They looked younger … or at least, they felt like it. Drinking tea helps in lessening the visual effects of the body’s wear and tear. The continued progression of wrinkles is stopped in their tracks, and the skin glowed a little more every day. This is also due to the detoxifying process tea gives.
Tea should be taken regularly, somewhere in between 3 to 6 times daily. This is done to fully maximize the health and life-giving properties of the simple drink we call tea.
